Talk and Book Signing with Mariela Maya.
Friday, July 20th, 7:30 - 8:30 pm

Author of "Practical Guide to the Tzolkin: a Contemporary Application based on the Mayan Calendar Practiced in Modern Times"

The ancient Mayan calendar, or "Tzolkin," has remarkable and fascinating applications and uses. After almost two decades of using the modern interpretation of the Tzolkin daily, Mariela Maya shares in her book what it is and how to use it with a creative and down-to-earth approach that works in magical and synchronistic ways. Mariela will talk about her experience with the Tzolkin as a beautiful and empowering tool for personal growth and conscious living, and how it has personally helped her in her transition from a corporate and academic background to a colorful, inspiring and transformational journey.

In Practical Guide to the Tzolkin, Mariela describes the Tzolkin’s main components and explains the “how to’s” in very simple, practical and playful ways. Written for easy learning with lots of illustrations and examples, you will gain wisdom and practical tools that you can implement right away. No special background or previous knowledge is needed, just the willingness to experience life in more conscious, joyful and colorful ways.

About the Author:
Mariela Maya, BA, MBA, Author and Life Coach, has extensive experience using the Tzolkin for the last two decades, both in her own journey and in supporting others through personal coaching, readings, workshops, webinars, ceremonies, group activities and soul trips. As a Yellow Electric Star born in the White World Bridger Wavespell, Mariela uses her creativity to share the Tzolkin in an original and personal way as she bridges the worlds.

 W
ith Natalia Karoway and Rob Somers
Friday, August 24th, 7:30 - 8:30 pm

Join local shamans and herbalists Natalia Karoway and Rob Somers as they lead us in a traditional Andean blessing ritual known as a "Despacho." This ancient sacred ceremony has been practiced for centuries in the Andes mountains of Peru.

Despachos are beautifully and thoughtfully crafted mandala offerings full of flowers, herbs, symbolic objects, and prayers. They are created in thanks to Pachamama, our mother earth, for all that she has given to us and in honor of the healing and wholeness we wish to create for ourselves and for our community.

The Despacho ceremony is a great way to lift the darkness while collectively inviting in more positivity and hope. This teaching will gift you with ceremonial practices to assist yourself and others during trying times. Sacred ceremony creates an opportunity for transformation and healing along our paths.

This ceremony will be a powerful way to set strong intentions and to plant the seeds of our dreams that are ready to come to life. Doing this medicine work together in community fully amplifies our manifestation power, and is a beautiful and magical experience. All are welcome!

Natalie Karoway and Rob Somers are practicing shamans who have trained at the Four Winds Society, with shamanic teacher Jose Luis Herrera, and at the Boston School of Herbal Studies. Natalia is the author of "Living Sacred Ceremony," available at Luminata. She will be signing copies of her book this evening.
