​​Ziggy Rendler-Bregman is a poet, painter and artist living in Santa Cruz. She gives workshops and courses in poetry and painting throughout the west and has had her work exhibited in fine galleries. Her poems are grounded in stillness and reflection, and spring from a path of inner striving. Her writing is warm and engaging; the poems have been described as reflecting the alchemy of transformation. They are a testimony of the striking power of language and imagery. This is her first book.

Popular local shaman Jon Rasmussen will visit Luminata for an autumn equinox ritual and shamanic journey.  As the cosmic scales of light and darkness balance, nature reminds us to go within and find the center of our being. We are grounded in both spirit and nature in the light of our core essence. By linking ourselves to the root of our being, we find that nothing can shake us. Just as the leaves of the oak tree fall in autumn, yet the roots remain strong and vital, so can we link ourselves with the deep center of life force that can withstand outer storms. In time, the forces of renewal will spring back to life. So too can we preserve our inner contact with the source and develop the forces to meet any challenge, flourishing throughout the ebb and flow of all natural cycles.

Jon Rasmussen is a well-known shaman and author of Dreaming Your World into Being. His studies include apprenticeship with world famous shaman Alberto Villoldo, and tutelage in the Andes with the mysterious Q’ero Indians of Peru. Jon is a carrier of the authentic shamanic tradition of the Americas.
