"Push Girl"
Talk and Book Signing
with Chelsie Hill
Friday, July 11th at 7:30 pm

CHELSIE HILL was a high school senior when she was driven home by a friend who had been drinking. Their SUV veered off the road and crashed into a tree, snapping Chelsie's back and paralyzing her from the waist down. With her father, she went on to establish a nonprofit foundation. The Walk and Roll Foundation, to aid people with spinal cord injuries.

Chelsie Hill was born March 28, 1992 and grew up in Pacific Grove, Ca. She was strongly attracted toward dancing
from the time she started walking, and she joined her first dance team at the age of five. Soon she was competing at state and national levels. Chelsie continued her passion for dance through middle school and high school,
earning her a spot on the varsity high school dance team.

One night, Chelsie was out with her friends when she got in the car with a friend who had been drinking. They hit a tree head on, leaving her a T-10 Paraplegic at the age of seventeen. When she awoke in the hospital and the reality began to set in about what had happen to her, she immediately began redesigning her goals. She rolled out of the hospital fifty one days later as an eighteen year old with a mission. Her accident and story had been a major focus of local news stations and papers since it occurred. The doors began opening faster then she could keep up with as the
community, local law enforcement, schools and many organizations began hearing her story and asking her to share it. She became one of the stars of the Sundance Channel series "Push Girls." Chelsie has been actively traveling around California and beyond speaking to adults and teens. Among many topics, she shares about how the choices they make can affect them and those who they love for the rest of their lives.

Luminata is delighted to feature a talk and book signing with this courageous young woman. Her book Push Girl is a novel based on her life.

Love offerings to offset Chelsie’s traveling expenses will be accepted.

"Connect With Your Angels"
Talk and Book Signing  With Jenny D’Angelo
Friday, August 22nd at 7:30 pm

Jenny D’Angelo is a healer, poet and angel scribe. She was adopted as granddaughter/next of kin by Dorie D’Angelo, the famous “Angel Lady of Carmel,” in 1983. Prior to that she was the international editor for Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the man who introduced transcendental meditation, and helped popularize the practice of meditation in the west. She is a published poet and has given presentations in Switzerland, Denmark, Italy, Norway and the Netherlands as well as in the U.S. She has always been an avid spiritual seeker of truth, and works closely with her angelic messengers.

There is much of local interest in her story. Many people will find fascinating the glimpses she shares of her meeting and life with Dorie D’angelo, Carmel’s own angel lady. Dorie’s small meetings in her home grew to as many as eighty people due to her radiant presence and insightful words. Jenny D’Angelo is carrying on this tradition. Jenny’s biographical sharing has many interesting and inspiring nuggets of wisdom. The main bulk of the book is her uplifting messages received through her devoted inner life and spiritual contact. Don’t miss this chance to meet Jenny, to hear speak about her angel ministry, and to share with her these messages for sacred living.

"This book will offer you... profound hope amidst the despair of our time, deep joy... and direct, luminous practices that will help you sustain your (angelic) connection through everything."  —Andrew Harvey, author of The Hope

"Illuminating the Shadows"

Shamanic Ritual for the Autumn Equinox
Friday, September 19th, 7:30 pm

Popular local shaman Jon Rasmussen will give a talk and lead a ritual in the tradition of a shamanic journey. The autumn equinox is a time of balance between light and dark in the sun’s annual cycle. As the days shorten, the forces of introspection grow. Autumn is a time of harvest as well, as we gather the fruits of our past efforts. Jon will talk on the theme of “illuminating our shadow.” The dark side of the psyche is a reservoir of immense power. When we are unaware of these forces they have the potential to be destructive. As we grow in awareness of all aspects of our inner life, and cast rays of light on our hidden side, we harvest the awesome power of our souls. When the spirit illumines our inner world, we harness a force that can lift us out of darkness into light.

Jon will lead us in an equinox ceremony employing traditional shamanic ritual tools for drawing down blessings. As each of us one by one steps more fully into this role of co-creator, free and powerful in every moment, the entire world benefits from our expanded awareness. We assist in helping the planet evolve into greater balance, serenity and peace.

Jon Rasmussen is a well-known local shaman and author of Dreaming Your World into Being. His shamanic studies include apprenticeship with world famous shaman Alberto Villoldo, and tutelage in the Andes with the mysterious Q’ero Indians of Peru. Jon has a growing national reputation as a carrier of the authentic shamanic tradition of the Americas.
