“You Don't Have to Suffer"
Talk and Book Signing with Judy Tatelbaum
Friday, October 16th, 7:30 pm

Luminata is pleased to present a talk and book signing with local author Judy Tatelbaum.  Judy is an inspirational speaker, professional trainer, and the author of two bestselling books, the Courage to Grieve and You Don’t Have to Suffer. She has been practicing psychotherapy with adults, and training health care professionals for 35 years.

In her work, Judy shows clients and readers that while hurt is inevitable in life, suffering is not. Her refreshing approach helps us understand that we can experience disappointments and let go of them. She gives practical tools to assist readers and clients to transform adversities into stepping stones. Rather than “pour salt in our wounds”—by dramatizing, and living in the past —Judy shows us how to free ourselves and see life as a gift. You Don’t Have to Suffer shows readers how we can raise ourselves above life’s challenges.

“We Never Asked for Wings"
Talk and Book Signing with Vanessa Diffenbaugh
Friday, November 13th, 7:30 pm

Luminata is delighted to host Vanessa Diffenbaugh for a talk and book signing. Vanessa is the author of the international bestseller “The Language of Flowers,” employing stunning imagery and hauntingly beautiful prose. Her debut novel has won praise from readers and literary critics all over the world. She continues her creative outpouring in her latest novel “We Never Asked for Wings,” a captivating story about devotion and family. Vanessa is also the founder of the Camellia Network, a nonprofit organization to support youth transitioning from foster care. Don't miss this opportunity to meet the author and hear her talk about her writing and her work.

“Best new writer of the year … Vanessa Diffenbaugh’s instantly entrancing THE LANGUAGE OF FLOWERS is a modern-day fairy tale … Start by falling in love with this rare, wise, winsome book.”--ELLE

“I haven’t read anything this good by a first time novelist since "The Help." I can’t even do justice to it by writing about it. If I had 5 stars to give it, I would reinvent the system, and give it 10 stars. Writing, characters, plot…it’s all there. Do yourself a favor…enjoy this book. It’s amazing.” ––Nancy Salmon, Kepler’s Books (Menlo Park, CA)
