Talk and Shamanic Ritual with Jon Rasmussen

As the year draws to a close, there is natural urge to look ahead to a fresh start and new beginnings. It is important to know how to start a cycle and to begin a new endeavor. "The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step," is a saying of an Eastern adept. How we take those first steps in any new activity is of great importance in how we achieve our goals.

Shamans have a unique way of looking at beginning projects and efforts.  They know that their circumstances reflect their state of mind, and that thoughts produce real changes in physical reality. They learn how to harness inner forces and use their creative imagination. They work with sacred archetypes and mythic consciousness,  employing ritual, imagery, and sacred space to draw in assistance from higher levels of existence. They call on their allies in nature and in the realms of spirit to assist them in their efforts. 

Popular local  shaman Jon Rasmussen will speak on the theme of new beginnings.  He will lead a shamanic ritual for drawing down wisdom, light and inspiration as we enter the turning of the year and the winter solstice. He will also lead us in a guided meditation in the tradition of a shamanic journey.

Jon Rasmussen is a well-known local teacher, and author of Dreaming Your World into Being. His studies include apprenticeship with world famous shaman Alberto Villoldo, and tutelage in the Andes with the mysterious Q’ero Indians of Peru. Jon is a representative of the authentic shamanic tradition of the Americas.
