Chakra Meditation for Clarity and Healing
With Rabia Erduman

Rabia Erduman is an author, psychologist and certified hypnotherapist.  In this exciting and informative presentation she will focus on how individuals can work with the body’s subtle energy system to enhance all areas of life, particularly for healing, and clarity in one’s life direction. The subtle energy complex known as the chakras has been described in the sacred literature of Asia for thousands of years and is becoming widely known today in the West. The evening presentation will include a guided visualization journey.

Ms. Erduman is the author of, “Veils of Separation,” a work that draws on the ageless metaphor of the fairy tale as a means to self-discovery and transformation. She also has created several outstanding guided meditation cd’s. As the year draws to a close this is a good way to end the year positively, draw together past experiences and look ahead positively to a new cycle. The event is free. Love offerings accepted.

Winter Solstice Ritual for Engaging the Light
With Jon Rasmussen

Luminata is hosting a winter solstice gathering as a focus for awareness, and as a way of drawing light into our lives. Local shaman Jon Rasmussen will lead a ritual in the tradition of a shamanic journey. The winter solstice is traditionally a time for celebrating the dawn of new light. Christmas and Hanukah are festivals of light and new birth. Tonight Jon will talk about how we can draw down the light of the eternal spirit to guide and inspire our lives. The source of light is the divine spark—the eternal presence that centers all individuals. By connecting with the inner spark of spirit, we find the source of light, love and truth that will help us to become forces for good in the world. Jon will lead us in a solstice ceremony employing traditional shamanic ritual tools for drawing down light and blessings upon our world.

Jon Rasmussen is a well-known local shaman and author of “Dreaming Your World into Being.”  He has an eclectic background of studies and training, from Tai, Chi, Chi Gung and Reiki, to Yoga, Naturopathy, and Neurolinguistic Programming. His shamanic studies include apprenticeship with world famous shaman Alberto Villoldo, and tutelage in the Andes with the mysterious Q’ero Indians of Peru. Jon has a growing national reputation as a carrier of the authentic shamanic tradition of the Americas.

Talk and Book Signing with David Richo
Author of How to Be an Adult in Faith and Spirituality
Friday, January 20th, 2012 @ 7:30 pm

On Friday night, at 7:30 pm, popular writer and workshop leader David Richo will be speaking at Luminata on his latest book, “How to Be An a Adult in Faith and Spirituality.” Part of psychological health is growing up not only in mind but in how one sees the questions of faith and spirituality. In this illuminating work, Dr. Richo provides a detailed and inspiring vision of what faith and spirituality can look like in adult consciousness. In this view, compassion becomes a spiritual path. Fear is replaced by an awareness of a loving design in the unfolding of our lives. Using his experience as a psychotherapist and scholar of world religions, Dr. Richo guides the reader along a path of enriching spiritual growth that bypasses dogma and awakens one to the transcendent—the place within us and beyond us where true and lasing faith abounds.

Dr Richo is a nationally known therapist, teacher, and workshop leader, and is the author of more than a dozen books, including the best-selling “How to be an Adult in Relationships” and “The Five Things We Cannot Change.”  His work emphasizes the benefits of mindfulness and loving-kindness in personal growth and emotional wellbeing.
